Rob co-founded Horizon Technology Finance Corporation and is its Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors. Rob co-founded our Advisor in 2003 and is its Chief Executive Officer and also serves a member of its investment committee. Rob has over 40 years of diversified lending and leasing experience including more than 20 years in venture lending.
From 2000 to 2003, Rob was President of GATX Ventures, Inc., the venture lending subsidiary of GATX Corporation. From 1996 to 2000, Rob was Executive Vice President of Transamerica Business Credit, where he co-founded and was general manager of Transamerica Technology Finance, its venture lending business. Rob served from 1989 to 1996 as Senior Vice President of Financing for Science International, Inc., a publicly traded venture financing and healthcare leasing company. Rob started his career with Crocker Bank in 1974. Rob earned both a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California at Berkeley.

Jerry co-founded Horizon Technology Finance Corporation and is its President and serves on the Board of Directors. Jerry has over 40 years of diversified lending experience including more than 20 years in venture lending.
From 2000 to 2003, Jerry was Senior Vice President in charge of business development of GATX Ventures, Inc., the venture lending subsidiary of GATX Corporation. From 1996 to 2000, Jerry was Senior Vice President of Transamerica Business Credit, where he co-founded and was the senior executive in charge of business development of Transamerica Technology Finance, its venture lending business. From 1993 to 1996, Jerry served as a Vice President with Financing for Science International, Inc., a publicly traded venture financing and healthcare leasing company. Prior to 1993, Jerry founded and served as President of Venture Leasing and Capital. Jerry attended Northeastern University, Rutgers University and the University of Phoenix, completed a commercial credit training program with Shawmut Bank and has taken executive courses at Harvard Business School.

Jay co-founded Horizon Technology Finance Corporation and is its Executive Vice President, General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer and Secretary. Jay is an original member of the team that founded our Advisor in 2003. Jay has more than 25 years of experience providing legal services to financial institutions and other entities and individuals including more than 15 years in venture lending.
From 2000 to 2003, Jay served as in-house counsel for GATX Ventures, Inc., the venture lending subsidiary of GATX Corporation. Jay also represented GATX Corporation's other venture lending units in Canada and Europe. Before joining GATX Ventures, Jay was a partner at the business law firm of Pepe & Hazard, LLP. Jay earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Colgate University and his Juris Doctor degree from Cornell Law School.”

Dan co-founded Horizon Technology Finance Corporation and is Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Investment Officer for both Horizon and the Advisor. He also serves as a member of Horizon’s investment committee. Dan joined our Advisor in 2004 and has more than 19 years of credit and portfolio management experience including more than 15 years in venture lending.
From 2003 to 2004, Dan was a Vice President in General Electric Capital Corporation's Life Science Finance Group, where he was primarily responsible for the underwriting and portfolio management of debt and equity investments to venture capital-backed life science companies. From 2000 to 2003, Dan was a Credit Manager at GATX Ventures, Inc., the venture lending subsidiary of GATX Corporation, and was a member of GATX's international credit committee. From 1999 to 2000, Dan was a Vice President and Director of Analysis for Student Loans with Citigroup. Dan’s previous experience also includes positions at Advest, Inc. and Ironwood Capital. Dan earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Clark University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Diane is Horizon’s Chief Credit Officer and also serves as a member of its investment committee. Diane joined our Advisor in 2019 and has over 35 years of risk management and financial services experience, including more than 20 years in venture lending.
Diane previously served as Credit Executive, Life Sciences at J.P. Morgan where she was responsible for underwriting and managing transactions for life science companies ranging from growth stage to mature companies. Diane also served as Executive Vice President, Chief Credit Officer at Square 1 Bank, a division of Pacific Western Bank, and held positions as Senior Vice President, Senior Credit Officer at Hercules Technology Growth Capital and Risk Leader – Life Science Finance for GE Capital. Diane earned a Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude in Economics from Fairfield University.

Dan is Horizon’s Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and also serves as a member of Horizon’s investment committee. He previously served as Vice President and Corporate Controller and had been responsible for supervision of all accounting functions as well as tax, financial reporting and assisted with all capital market efforts. Dan has held the same positions with Horizon Technology Finance Management LLC, the Company's advisor, since 2006. He has been involved in the accounting and venture debt industries for more than 20 years, including 10 years in venture lending. Dan previously served as Senior Manager at a regional public accounting firm and held positions with KPMG LLP and Arthur Andersen LLP. Dan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accountancy, with honors, from Bentley University and a Master of Science degree in taxation from the University of Hartford. He is a Certified Public Accountant, chartered in the State of Connecticut.
