Enhances Technology Team with the Addition of Paul Gibson as Managing Director
FARMINGTON, CT / ACCESSWIRE / December 16, 2014 / Horizon Technology Finance Corporation (NASDAQ: HRZN) ("Horizon"), a leading specialty finance company that provides capital in the form of secured loans to venture capital backed companies in the technology, life science, healthcare information and services, and cleantech industries, today announced that its Advisor, Horizon Technology Finance Management LLC, has hired Paul Gibson as Managing Director for the Mid-Atlantic, Southeast and Midwest technology markets. Mr. Gibson will operate from Horizon's Reston, Virginia office.

Mr. Gibson has over 20 years of commercial banking experience, with the last 13 focused on technology and venture lending. As Managing Director, he will be responsible for developing and maintaining sponsor relationships and sourcing debt financing opportunities with venture-backed companies in the Mid-Atlantic, Southeast and Midwest technology markets. Previously, Mr. Gibson held the position of Senior Vice President, Regional Market Manager at Bridge Bank, where he and his team assisted a variety of growing technology and life science companies in sectors such as software, semiconductors, communications, entertainment, medical devices, security and intelligence, web services and cleantech. Prior to joining Bridge Bank, he spent nearly eight years with California State Bank and five years at Silicon Valley Bank.
Mr. Gibson received his BA from Seaver College at Pepperdine University and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Florida Venture Forum.
